'It's a comfort to know, when you're singing the hit the road blues, that anywhere else you could possibly go after New York would be a pleasure cruise.'
[/blockquote][/blockquote] From aspiring Broadway performers to future business entrepreneurs, everybody dreams of making a name for themselves, and where better to do that than New York City? If you can make it in the big apple, you can make it anywhere. And if the rough, harsh city life doesn't get to you, the emotional drama of the people you'll meet along the road to success will. It's make it or break it in the exposing and unforgiving limelight of Manhattan, and only the blessed manage the former. And here you are, your innocent eyes opening for the first time to the hustle and bustle of the big city. You made it to New York University. The next four years will shape the rest of your life.
Who are you, newbie? What's your story? How did you come to be here, smack in the merciless epicentre of the real world? Are you a businessman, an actor, a poet? What makes you think that you can make your mark here, when so many allegedly talented people before you have failed to launch their careers in the most prestigious city in America? What drives you to succeed? Do you have what it takes? You'd best give your answers some serious thought, because they will determine whether you end up as a multi-millionaire running an ever successful business, a worldwide rising star from the stage to the big screen, or the one who couldn't handle the pressure of living the good life.
Only the strong will survive the bittersweet reality of big city life. No matter where you're from, no matter who you are, this is what you've always wanted, but only a lucky few of you will get it. The question that will push you to succeed is, "Will you be one of them?" or perhaps what drives you to be the best is the fear of what will happen if you aren't. Welcome to New York City.
