RATINGS:
Just so you know, threads on this forum are going to be rated anywhere and everywhere in between G and R/NC-17 or K and MA. That means that if you are going to join us, you need to be able to handle swearing, violence, romance of all different pairings, and the like. If you have a thread that you think is going to involve graphic sex, violence or gore, kindly put an [M], an [MA] or an [R] in the thread's title, so that everybody who is going to read the thread knows what they're dealing with. Thank you.JOINING.
- You can register as whatever username you want to when you first join. I really don't care what your actual username is. But as soon as you've registered and activated your account and all of that, you need to change your display name to the first and last name of your character, in lower-case letters. Do not capitalize the first letters. It looks better if it's all in lower-case. I also don't want to see any brackets or asterisks or squiggly lines floating around your character's name. Just the name. Got it? Good.
- Once you register, post your application quickly. If it's been a week since you registered and your application isn't up, I'll delete your account. If it's been a week since you updated an unfinished application, I'll move the application to the archives and delete your account. Feel free to make a new account and repost your application if you come back and still want to join, but seriously, just post your frickin' app. Kay?
**Just for the record, when you complain about your application not getting accepted or looked at or whatever, on the CBox, in PM's, or wherever else you decide to complain about it, I not only want to look at your application even less, but I kind of want to punch your face in. Kay? So don't whine. I'll get to your application when I can. If it really seems like I'm ignoring you or whatever, I probably just forgot, and one pleasant reminder is fine. And also, don't whine if I deny your application. If you throw a hissy fit, whine and complain, or start yelling at me because I told you what you need to do to make your application better, I will ban your IP. I'm not even joking. That bothers me so much. Just take the criticism and fix your character, or move on to a forum that isn't as picky, but don't be an idiot. Okay? If you disagree with something I said, or you want to clarify something that I might not have understood correctly, say it calmly and respectfully. Trust me, it's a lot more fun to respond to that than it is to respond to somebody whining about how I'm being a bitch by not accepting their application.
You can have as many characters as you want to, but you need a separate account for each character. When two people are role playing off the same account, it gets frickin' confusing, so don't do it. It's really not that hard to make a new account every time you want a new character.
ROLE-PLAYING.
[/li][li]Don't start role-playing until your application has been accepted. Seriously. Just don't do it. Don't post your relationship map, don't start an IM thread, don't do anything with that character. If you do, I will delete it. I won't move it into the archives, I will delete it. As in it goes bye-bye. I don't care how long you spent making it- if you post your relationship map before your character is accepted, I will make it go away.
[/li][li]Short posts bug the hell out of me. I want a bare minimum of 300 words per post. Writer's block or not, you should be able to come up with that much. If I really love you, I can be more forgiving with this, but seriously, three hundred words is not that much to ask for from a good role player. The sample that you put in your application should also be at least three hundred words.
[/li][li] Don't god-mod and power play, bla de bla de bla. All that crap. Perfect characters bug the nuts out of me. Be realistic when you make your characters. I don't want endlessly dramatic and traumatic pasts. Yes, I know that some people have some nasty nuts happen to them, but not everybody does, and not everybody has the amount of nasty nuts happen to them that I see all the time on forums. And look at the accepted applications, please. I don't want millions of copies of the same emotional baggage to be carried around by different characters. Okay? Okay.
[/li][li] No chatspeak in character. Out of character, it's fine. I dun car eef j00 tok lyke dis in the CBox or out of character boards, but don't do it while role playing, unless it's an IM board, a text message, or dialogue. And even in dialogue, only use it within reason. If your character speaks chatspeak, that's fine. Just don't overdo it. Seriously.
[/li][li] Use a spell checker.
Don't have MS word? Well, there's a spell check key at the bottom of the posting screen. Butt due gnat trustee you're spelt checkers two cat owl off you're miss takes.
[/li][li] Do not make your character have the same name, first or last, as the celebrity they're played by. Just don't. I really shouldn't have to say this, but apparently I do.
[/li][li] Only commit to as much as you can keep up with. Don't make a third character when you're barely handling two. Don't make a new thread when you're already swamped with the four that you owe posts in. It gets really annoying for other people to wait for you to post because you have too much on your plate.

OOC
[/li][li]Don't start fights with other members. Really, there's no point. If you have a serious problem with another member, PM me and I'll deal with it. If you just don't like them, or have a difference in opinion, agree to disagree and get over it.
[/li][li]Don't stretch the boards with your signatures. 500x300 is the maximum for a banner. Two 200x200 icons is max, or three 150x150, or five 100x100 in a row. That's all. Don't argue. Just do it.
[/li][li]Don't double post. If you double post, I will delete both of your posts. If you forgot something, go back and edit your post. You seriously don't need to post twice in a row. Exceptions to this are the first posts in your relationship map, and if you run out of space in your first post. Other than that, one post in a row is enough.
[/li][li]If you're going to speak OOC, go to the OOC board. I can be pretty forgiving on this rule if it's just something short before/after a post, or if there's a legitimate reason for it. But for the most part, I would prefer if you didn't speak OOC in the role playing boards. OTAY?
[/li][li]Respect the admin, and respect your fellow role players. You're not the only one here, and you're not the most important one here, either, so don't act like it.[/li][/ul][/blockquote]
